It's been a while! The new year's just around the corner and I wanted to update you all on what Deb and I are up to. First off, we don't Twitter or FaceBook (we're barely e-mail people), so get over it . . .
The Fault Line Cafe is still a project we're working on. Deb and I have been looking into grants (really, Deb has, I look over her shoulder as she googles) and we've found a few, but after looking at a spaces for rent here in SD and then comparing rental prices elsewhere across the country, we don't think our next space will be in California. It's just too damn expensive and the laws are too strict. New Mexico and Nevada are possibilities, unless, that is, we win the Lotto, then who cares?
We're still sending out our films to festivals and are being seen in some and across the web, but after nearly sixty films, dozens of festivals, and thousands of views on-line, we're ready for that next step - which means investing in bigger and better equipment. These past four years have been a fantastic learning experience for us, and now we need to take move forward . . . which also requires money and time. We'll still do a few small (very small) side projects a year, but we're patient.
Currently, we're putting together a few improv. and sketch comedy shows for January at the Twigg's Green Room. The improv. shows we did a few months back we're great and now we want to add sketches, then maybe move up to doing a few one-acts. We're going to be looking for new blood as well, so we'll let you all know when auditions will be (as I said, January.)
So, that's the scoop thus far. Hope all is well and have a happy holiday!
